Reuven Azulay - Painter | ראובן אזולאי - צייר

ראובן אזולאי, תושב טבריה, בן 65, נשוי +2 וסב לנכדים.
כבר מגיל צעיר מאד הידרדר לסמים קשים, עבריינות ופשע. תמיד אמרו שהוא מקרה אבוד. ללא תקנה. ילדות מאד קשה. האתגר היה לשרוד עוד יום.
בגיל 39 קרה הנס המיוחל והגדול, אזולאי נגמל לחלוטין מסמים ומכל דבר שמשנה מצב רוח והצטרף לקבוצת תמיכה אנ.איי , משם קיבל את האהבה והתמיכה מחברים.
המסע התחיל. אזולאי התחיל לעבוד בתחום הטיפול בהתמכרויות בקהילת "מלכישוע" כמדריך נגמלים. למד הדרכה "בבית ברל". עבד כמדריך בשלושה בתי סוהר בתחום הטיפול והשיקום של אסירים במשך שנים. עשה בגרות במכללת "כינרת" ובעל תואר ראשון במדעי החברה מטעם מכללת "עמק יזרעאל".
היום אזולאי נקי טוטאלי מסמים ומכל דבר שמשנה מצב רוח כבר 26 שנים. עובד במשרד הרווחה בטבריה בתחום השיקום של מכורים בעיר טבריה והפריפריה.
אזולאי מאד מוכר ואהוב בעירו טבריה על פועלו.
הציור זו אהבת חייו. אזולאי אוטודידקט ולא למד מעולם את תחום האמנות. פשוט זה בא מהנשמה.

Reuven Azoulai, resident of Tiberius, 65 years old, married with 2 children, and a grandfather.

From a very young age Reuven deteriorated into a world of drugs, delinquency and crime.  Rehabilitation was not envisioned and he was seen as helpless and treated as a lost cause.  His childhood was very difficult and day to day survival was challenging for him.

At the age of 39, Azoulai, successfully weaned himself off drugs and all other mood-affecting substances.  It was unanticipated at the time and seen as no less than a miracle.  He joined an NA support group, from where he received the love and support of friends.

This was the beginning of his journey.  Azoulai, began working in the field of addiction treatment in The Malkishua community.  He became a guide of others who had undergone similar situations, and managed to quit their drug addiction. He trained at Beit Berel collage and worked as an instructor in three prisons in the field of addiction treatment and rehabilitation in prisons for several years.  He graduated from Kinnerat Collage and has a BA in social sciences from Emek Jezreel College.

Today Azoulai, has been totally clean from drugs and any mood-affecting substance for 26 years.  He works at The Welfare office in Tiberias in the field of rehabilitation for addicts.

Azoulai is very well known in the city of Tiberias and respected for his work in the community.

Azoulai has a passion for painting, and is a naturally talented artist.  He has never studied art, and is totally self-taught in this field.

‘Of course I will always continue to help addicts throughout my life.  Only throught giving to I get the strength to continue on my path’.
